Click the checkbox beside desired data in the above folders
to overlay the layer on the map. Wait for content to appear (it may take a while depending on government servers), you may need to pan
to the location of data. Choose any of the
map types from the top of the map as the base layer. You can add several data
layers at the same time. Once a layer is added, its opacity can be adjusted with
the opacity control (slider) which will show up on the top right corner of the
map. The opacity control belongs to the top most data layer (the last one
added). To bring a layer to the top, simply remove it (uncheck the
checkbox) and add it again to the map. The legend conveniently shows up to the
left side of the map. When you print the map, make sure the legend corresponds
with the data layer on the map. Clicking the data title will bring up the
metadata for that data. The above list is not complete, more data will be added gradually. You can visit iMapBC for a complete sampling of the Government of BC data feeds.
*Important: Each layer has a specific minimum zoom level in order to be seen; if
you zoom out more than that, it will not show up.
